Fly fishing, past and present.

In a changing world, where present eats the recent past and the future is now, it is good to remember the pioneers, explorers and visionaries of what today is fly fishing.

A Kinetic Loop: "A celebration of fly fishing's past and present. An attempt to look at the innovators of today, the pioneers of yesterday, and the similarities and differences that have defined the evolution of the sport over its lifetime."

FFF - Fall Fly Fishing

Fall is one of our favorite seasons for fly fishing, whether in rivers, lakes or in saltwaters. The months before winter are months of abundance, feeding fish, and good catches on the fly. Add beautiful scenery, vegetation and trees in shades of ocher and red, and is the perfect shot... This fly fishing video teaser shot in Wyoming is a good example of fall fly fishing.

The good thing is we still have a few weeks to enjoy it. Tight lines!

Fly fishing in the Faroe Islands

Fly fishing in the Faroe Islands, a new destination to discover. Flymage Magazine issue #20

"Today, now that most world fishing destinations are more or less developed, the Faroe Islands are an undiscovered gem, and as I found after a week, not only for its fishing."

"The very short rivers with "trouty" currents are ideal for dry flies, nymphs, and streamers, even though as I found the trout are not educated, they took dry flies quite confidently. They are a very nice browns (is there any ugly trout?) that don ́t reach large sizes in general, but are extremely strong."

"Most all these rivers and lakes have no artificial obstacles on their way to the sea, allowing fish to run back upstream un-hindered to the spawning grounds. This makes fishing tremendously interesting if we consider that sea trout and salmon will complete the sport fishing on offer."

"Cuttyville", cutthroat trout heaven!

Named as a trout but actually from the salmon family, cutthroat trout (Oncorhynchus clarkii) is one of the most prized native "trout" in the US. This video is a great and reflects the beauty of these "cuttys" in an amazing wilderness, combining fly fishing scenes, photographs and timelapse. Thumbs up!
